What is PRP?

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is nothing but concentrated blood plasma which contains a much higher number of platelets as compared to normal blood. It also contains vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) and numerous other growth factors and peptides that lead to rapid wound healing and hair re-growth.

What is the procedure of PRP?

The procedure involves the application of numbing cream initially for half an hour. During this period 10 ml of your blood is collected and centrifuged at pre-determined settings. This process of centrifugation separates the other components of the blood from the platelets. The final result is a rich concentrate of platelets and growth factors within the plasma. This concentrate is then injected into the skin using fine needles at the level of the collagen.
